If your solos are in middle choruses, you can go to the Melody menu, choose Edit and find "Kill Melody in middle choruses" to knock it out in one shot.
If, however, you want the soloist to intertwine with the Melody throughout or in the first or last chorus, you would have to RightClick and choose Bar Setting, then Mute the track you don't want to hear at that bar. Don't forget to RightClick at the bar where you want to hear it come back in and unmute it. The same can be done with the Soloist or any other track, too.
