The USB drive is being used as the equivalent of what used to be floppies, then CDs, then DVDs, but the drive is now needed to accomodate the sheer data size increases as the technology marches on.

You aren't buying a USB drive, you are buying software.

PGMusic is not very likely to be making money off of the hard drive or electronic download differences.
