I just thought I'd post this in case anyone else sees it and thinks there's something wrong with their mouse.
Normally, left clicking on the tempo up/down arrows changes the tempo by 5 BPM. Right clicking changes it by 1 with each click. However, sometimes the first click of the left mouse button will change it by 1 BPM. I have verified this carefully. I can usually get it to happen by changing the key, loading a new tune, and recording some melody.

It's been that way as long ago as version 9. I assumed that was the intended behaviour since I had never tried it before loading a song. However it's never been an issue since you can right click back one step and then left click in fives. Or double click and enter the exact tempo you want.

Yes, as I said it's a minor bug. However, if I want to go from 135 to 130, I'd rather just click once than left click, move mouse, right click, move mouse, left click.

I understand. The thing is, when you are used to the behaviour, you just compensate automatically so these things seldom get attention. I'd bet most users on this forum never noticed. Maybe now it has been brought up PGM will fix it.

I noticed and ignored this a long time ago.
I just never cared to report it.
And I still do not, as I have the volume sliders instead of the spinner.
Sooner or later someone will ask a question about that and no one here will remember the old days.

The volume sliders change the tempo? Or maybe you are refering to the volume spinners? It was the tempo that was in question here. Or did I miss something?

I remarked on this many, many years ago but like John, didn't pay it any mind after that (tempo slider).
Perhaps there is some sort of buffer that doesn't get cleared until the second mouse click?

I am using BIAB right now, and just hit this twice, and it is minor pain in the butt. My mind is on the music, and I just want to change the tempo by 10, and suddenly I have to switch gears, think about BIAB, and get things adjusted right.
I can also tell you that I spent a month thinking there was something wrong with the buttons on my laptop, because "once in a while the left button seemed to activate the right switch." I thought there was something mechanical wrong in the switches, and so I was always trying to push the very left part of the button, in all applications. I was even thinking of opening it up and cleaning the switches. I finally realized that it was BIAB.
