Hello! I'm building up a nice little pile of external hard drives with a different, older versions of Band-in-a-Box on each.
Do I need to keep them? I know I can't sell them with the programs and files on them, so no way I'd do that. But can I reformat them and sell the blank hard drive? Or can I reformat them and use them for personal file back up?
Thanx 1000000 for any guidance.

Yes, you could blank (format) them, and then sell the HD.

Thank you, Sir. If I decide to do so, I will reformat and keep or sell. Much appreciated.

Use one of them to keep a backup of the current program. In other words, copy your newest hard drive to one of them and set it on a shelf. Update that drive every new version.. PGMusic has said previously that this is OK too.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

They're great for holding up old wood windows who's ropes don't work anymore. LOL. Just kidding. I use an old VCR tape for that. LOL. I re-format them and store backup images of my computer's HD. I figure I get more value that way then what I could sell them for.

A man in this business, can't have enough backups of his music files. I also never thought of HD backup images - definitely a critical use, Tim.

I also have been pondering the use of these hard drives (I think I have six) and had decided that one would be a back up of the current Band-in-a-Box 2012 Audiophile. I really do not know how to do this and I wonder if some kind person could just go through the procedure for me using Windows 7. I believe one would have to delete all the files, then reformat, and copy from one external drive to another. Is this correct? I just cannot find any help that tells me how to do this. If you know of a website where there is an outline of the procedure, please post the link.
Is there a file in BB that does the copying for you?
It is only a couple of days since an expert on this forum advised me not to place too much confidence in the one hard drive that I have been carrying around. That is what started me off on the train of thought about using one of my old drives to make a copy.

Graham, just copy from one to another. You can copy the entire BB folder and done.
The only caveat is that if those older drives are not for the Audiophile edition, then they are going to be too small in data size to be able to accept a copy of the Audiophile .wav file formats.
If the drives are from Audiophile versions, just delete the old folder(s) and then do a Select All in the highest view and drag copy in Explorer the entire drive from one to the other. Done.
