Hello,
I have BIAB 2012 on Win XP.
I want to create some musical arrangements for repeating my favourite songs.
I own BIAB since many years but I never reached a good result.
Maybe, it's because I've tried with complex files (King Crimson, Caravan, Soft Machine, Jeff Beck ...) or I'm doing a mistake somewhere.
I play guitar and keyboards.
The goal is to have files to play along, without the guitar sound (but with the corresponding chords displayed) and the same thing for piano or organ (I really would like to play "In the land of grey and pink" from Caravan).
The origin of the song could be a mp3 or, directly, my CD.
I've read it's recommended first to use the Vocal Remover plug-in. I've tried ... no success, as usual.
May someone explain me clearly how to do, with the succession of all the different steps?
French would be easier for me but I understand English not too bad.
For exemple we can take "Ballad for a thin man" on Highway 61 of Bob Dylan.
This song seems easiest and I think it could be a good base to finally reach my need.
Or any Beatle's song.
Thanks for your help.
François

I am not sure entirely what you are tyring to do, but here is what first came to mind.

If I wanted to create a BIAB version of a tune:
For a simple song I would start by directly entering the chords
Listen to the song over and over so you know its structure.
For the Dylan tune, Sounds to me like a series of verses and a single chorus: A, A, A, B, A, A, A, A
Since this is a little odd for BIAB I would enter the entire structure fo the who song instead of using repeats.

I would start this in 4/4,

THE BALLAD OF A THIN MAN- Bob Dylan

Verse
Bm Bm/Bb
Bm/A Bm/Ab
G Em
D F#m Bm
D F#m
Bm G Bm

Chorus
Bm Bm/A
G Bm
Bm Bm/A
G Em A A7

Then you have to set the tempo and Key (if Bm don't word for you). Next a style. This is always a searching exercise which takes a little time. Or you can go directly to a RT if you know somthing you want to hear.

Not sure this is what you are looking for ? But I did enjoy listening to Bobby D this morning.

Yeah, that's something that's driven me crazy on the forum, too. It removes any series of multiple spaces and scrunches everything together. I wonder if that's a setting that they could change, so posting text chord progressions would allow things to line up properly.

Of course, part of the problem too is that the text entry box uses a courier-like monospace font and the resulting posting uses an Arial-like proportionally spaced font.

Oh, well.

Hello,
Of course, I know this method. But you have to get the right chords before.
I was trying to let BIAB do the job for me, using File, Open Audio and then let BIAB to recognize the chords.
Sometimes, I've got something not so far from the reality but in other cases, the result is unusable.
Thanks for your help.
