Hi from a newbie to Biab,
I have made a simple 12 bar blues form in Finale and would like to make the same form in Biab. It is a 12 bar blues with a 1st ending in mm 8-12 and 2nd ending in mm 13-16. I have read hard copy manual and searched the program help menu without a solution. The documentation never leads me to the correct form. Where am I making my mistakes and/or is there example that I could edit the "chords, styles and save as" to just use it?

Hi and welcome, Here's a way to do it until someone more knowledgeable than I shows the proper way. Create a new 12 bar song with 2 choruses. Under song settings (the S button), turn off "generate 2 bar ending." In that same dialog, invoke a tag, beginning after bar 8, starting at bar 13 and ending after bar 16. Fill the chords you want for first ending into bars 8-12, those for 2nd ending into the tag bars. It'll look funny on the screen, but works. (If you later choose to turn on "generate 2 bar ending," it'll add after the tag.) You've hit on one of the confusing features of BB. Hopefully, someone will suggest something more intuitive for both of us.  -Ron EDIT - OK, here's probably the proper way. Define the song to have only one chorus and 16 bars. In the repeats dialog, set first ending as above. Enable the "generate new bars" switch. Turn fake sheet mode on, and the screen display will be neater than above. (And, yeah, the tutorial mentioned by GuildG should help.  )

You have led me to the solution and I am on my way to using BIAB as a great practicing tool.
I've also found the tech FAQ which I'm sure will supply some solutions in the future.
Your willingness to help a newbie is why these forums work so well. I only hope that in the future I can pass along some helpful information to another "Newbie".
