Both versions are good mix and good production value songs.
All else is personal preference.
Always fun to try something completely out of your "regular" vein, I think Charlie turned in a pretty doggoned good performance when you look at it that way.

Thanks, Danny for listening and your comments. Right now, I favor the POP version. But if somebody got interested in the country version I might change my mind.
Thanks, Mac. I'll have to agree on the personal preference. I've been listening to Lady GaGA and she has a song, Poker Face, that I think is great.

Hi Charlie,
Loved it - had a wonderful sense of fun to it. It's great as is but I did have some ideas to throw out.
I thought the hook could be "Close Encounters of the Girl Kind" - because girl sounds more like third and it's just more silly.
I thought you could do a hip-hop version with the verse being more spoken like a rap and the music being more outer spacey and etherial with a strong sub bass line to carry the beat. Then the chorus could have more voicing and singing going on.
Anyway wonderful stuff and best of luck with it.

Pete, thanks for the listen and your comments. I'm glad you liked it. I'm sure there's a ton of things that could be done to the song to make it better but I'm finished with it for the time being. Time to move on. I will keep your suggestions in mind if I start fooling around with it again.
