Got a new Gateway computer a couple of days ago with windows 7 after enjoying EP for several years. On board sound card is "Realtek High Definiton Audio". I also connected a "Microsoft Web Cam" which for a while took over the audio when I tried things with BIAB 12 & Real Band. I finally got play sound but when, using line in to make a test recording track it played back at such a low volume that it was useless. One of those little yellow windows popped open, top right hand corner with instructions mentioning "disable stuff". I tracked down the correct window using that little speaker icon in the VU meter & accidentally disabled "line in".I went to re-enable & got the message "No Audio Divices Installed" & I am stumped! Help. Can somebody help me find my audio divices?....Hank

First of all, you probably have to have something actually plugged in to the "line-in" connector for Windows 7 to recognize it.
Windows 7 handles sound much differently than Windows XP (I presume you meant XP when you said EP). Have you gone in and looked at "Sounds" under Control panel? Also, if you right click on that window, you'll also see a menu item to "show disabled and disconnected devices".
Make sure the driver you want is selected. then go into BIAB/RB and select accordingly. Try it with MME first before getting into ASIO.

Hank, glad John got it sorted for you.
I just wanted to say that I have your same card a "Realtek High Definition Audio" and I am very happy with it. I have very cheap Gateway powered speakers and they can strip paint without distorting.
