I'm getting a new system. I currently running win7 home premium 32 bit. I'll be changing to 64bit. I have the 2012 Everything Pack ext hd. Will I have to reinstall BIAB and RB? I'm assuming that my mirror image backup cannot be used to restore to my new system? When I went from XP to Win 7, I had to re-install all the programs. Thanks, I've never done this procedure before.

Here is how to do it and also keep all of your songfiles to date:

1) First, run the Installer that is on the USB drive on the new computer. Install at least the Fonts and DX effects from there. That is because these two things must write to the Windows Registry. Also install any DXi synth that you want to use on the new puter, bear in mind that the venerable but old VSC DXi will NOT run on a 64 bit system though. There is a Coyote offering that does.

2) Now just copy the entire BB folder to the new puter's drive.

3) Before attempting to run BB, go into the BB folder, find the file named, "intrface.bbw" on the new computer and delete it.

4) Now start BiaB up, it will create a new "intrface.bbw" file to match your new computer and you will be taken thru the Setup Wizard for MIDI devices and Sound.

Assuming that the copy of BB that you have on your old machine is up to date with the latest patch update installed, the copy on your new machine will reflect that. Right now, with BB2012, we are on Build 349.

That's all there is to it, in all these years I've never lost a single song.

**NOTE - there are certain "addons" that you may have that will not copy like this. Those will have to be installed separately onto the new machine using their appropriate installers should you have them.**
