Shastasan's wish came true. I should be upping my GPA this semester (and that's suprising to me).
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I took a new job, and got promoted (read more responsibilities) .. right after I decided to go ahead and take one more full-time semester to finish off the degree. I wasn't planning on the job at the time.
So the last few months have been quite a weight to carry. Working full-time and going to school full-time with a house, wife and couple daughters has scheduled every minute. Finally tonight (for my birthday) I get to feel the weight come off. I'm SO glad it's done. Feeling very relieved and letting the "ahh" settle in. Thanks again to everyone.
However, contrary to what some think, I don't think my birthday is my fault. I wasn't even alive when the whole idea started.

if you're just turning 50, you've got a Looooong way to go before you're one of the forum's "older members"... but if you keep having birthdays, it could happen.
Happy birthday, Bob. You have a ways to go to be the oldest. It looks like you were born when I was 27 and the 4th child was getting ready to make his entrance into the world.
I'm appreciative of the 2 or 3 times you've helped me along the way, such as getting my embedded MP3 player to work.
God bless and I hope you see many more.

Yeah, I needed to make sure the O2 was charged up before I tried to blow out the candles. Actually I just leaned over and turned on the ceiling fan on high. Made the job a lot easier. You don't get to be old without learning a few tricks along the way.

Hi Bob,
Welcome to the 50 year old Club - I remember mine in 1981 when I was just a whipper-snapper. Now 30 years later with defective everything I still find delight in music and of course communicating with you all.
Have a great time,
Regards,Lyn

That's funny to me; I got gray really early in life, and was fine with it. About 28-30 I just turned gray all of the sudden. Others in my lineage experienced the same thing. However .. for this particular set of shows, Barry and I agreed to dye our hair to look younger (at the request of the much younger guitar player and drummer). I tried to change that avatar to be a little more accurate a few months ago and ran into issues. Guess I should see if they are fixed. edit: It worked!

yeah, now that you're bordering on old man status.. you'll need the following accessories:
1) a gold chain 2) a sport car or harley 3) shirts that lack the top 4 buttons 4) a combover 5) hearing aid 6) bad attitude ("get off my lawn!!")

7) a walker with orange flame decals (or deckles to you Canucks) 8) a Foley bag replete with a year's supply of DIY catheters 9) a good supply of Depends 10) a denture cup 11) a lanyard for your spectacles 12) large print TV Guide 13) ultra soft toilet paper 14) economy sized tubes of Preparation H (refer to #13 above) 15) a dear friend with a drivers' license 16) gallon jugs of Milk of Magnesia 17) a gross of hearing aide batteries (piles to you Brits) 18) a self locating TV remote (clap your hands and it beeps. At 50 you get the T-shirt: "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill." At 70 you get "Old age ain't for sissies." I'll tell you what happens at 60 later this year.

Happy Belated Birthday, rharv! (I'm closing in on 52 myself.) As I heard someone say today, once you get over the hill, you start picking up speed....

Bob:
Hope you had a good one.
I'll add my voice to the appreciative chorus of others that have been helped by you - I recall struggling with Powertracks and your help was invaluable.
You've been a rock on this forum, and it's appreciated.
Thanks.

I thought it was "once you're over he hill, it's all downhill from here".
For a few years there I was telling people I'm not quite 'over the hill' but I got a really nice view from up here. Now I'm seeing the other side of the hill.
