Hi Mac!

Yes, I have been doing that as well, but I'm always looking for new ways that might improve work flow.

The stereo files do work well in most cases, however I have found that when panning certain instruments I can get a much better balance in my mix if I render those particular instruments to "mono" tracks.
This might be that in Sonar X1 Expanded you sometimes have to configure more than just the "main track" panning knob to get a certain desired effect.Which to me is more work than necessary sometimes!

Anyway just thought I'd ask!

Thanks

Harpo

If SONAR is still doing what they did when it was Cakewalk Pro, which I am familiar with, you have to set the program to do "Equal Energy Panning" for Stereo Tracks and then it is not a problem.

RealBand and Powertracks do that automatically.

Once you find the right setting for the Panning, I think you will find that the Stereo tracks, when panned using Equal Energy Panning, will actually sound much BETTER in your mixes.
