I'm looking for some guitar chord diagrams. I would like to use an existing font that will work in (say) MSWord, like Personal Strum or FretsA/B/C. The problem is, I don't have a description of the chords that are associated with each of the characters in these fonts.
Is there a "font description" somewhere for any of these fonts, or any other "guitar diagram" font?
In the Personal Strum font, I can find the characters for D, G, A7 and Bm chords but I can't find Asus4, D/C#.
Anyone have an idea as to where to start looking? Thanks! LLOYD S

I just looked at some of my fonts from various music programs, and there does not seem to be any way to see a conversion table from keypress to symbol. Maybe a font editor program like this one? http://cr8software.net/typelight.html
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Thanks Matt. I don't think that's what I'm looking for. It says:
"With Type light you can design, edit and convert OpenType TrueType (.ttf) and PostScript (.otf) fonts."
All I want is, as you suggested, a "conversion table" to get a fix on what the chords are.
I have posted a question to the PGMusic Help Line to see if the guitar symbols used in BIAB are available as a "font".
I'll keep you posted. LLOYD S

Entirely off-topic (and unhelpfully), I'll note that it's odd that GCHORDS tags "Amaj7" "A7+". TEX really is an insanely powerful program.

Band in a Box has its own internal ability to print Guitar Chord Diagrams...
Still, the use of them is likely to be dependant upon your own ability to scan, identify and check those diagrams as you go along.
Those who expect the computer to turn them into guitar chord experts without that knowledge are likely to encounter problems with their printouts once presented to actual guitar players (and I use the that term rather loosely, as a Guitar Player should not need chord diagrams listed along with the fake chord names, after all, the definition itself implies that the person with said guitar knows their chord shapes...).

Mac:
I checked with the PGMusic staff and indeed, the chord diagrams that BIAB uses are somewhat "proprietary" in that, the PGMusic Font that has the guitar diagram, only has ONE diagram, and then the program adds the dots, chord name etc.
My "music sheets" consist of words interspersed with chord names. E.g. C Mary had a little lamb G7 little lamb ...
I use a bold and larger font for the chord names so they are easier to follow along to. My book of these song sheets (affectionately called my "bible"), is used by family and friends when we have a jam session. The skill level in these sessions varies greatly, so I keep the songs to the most basic chords that I can.
However, if a song just MUST have a chord that I think not everyone will know, I try to put in a chord diagram so that it's available for anyone who needs it.
As an aside, I'm currently converting this hardcopy "bible" to a digital format. I've developed a "program" that I use on a touch-pad tablet. I will be able to navigate to any of the songs with just a couple of finger-presses. I will also be able to "play" the song (MP3 or MIDI), right from the words-and-chords page.
Good thing I'm retired. It may take forever to get it all done <grin>. The good thing is of course, no more unwieldy 3-ring binder to haul around, plus additions and updates will be a breeze!
LLOYD S
