I haven't experienced anything like that here.

With TWO units doing exactly the same thing wrong, I would think that it would either be something in the build of the units -- or something in whateer those units were hooked up to -- that causes something like that.

I'd be willing to put them on my Test Bench and see if I can find out what the problem may be. Don't have schematics and am not sure if Ketron would make them available to me, but a lot can be told from other methods as well. The things may be easily repairable as well, all depends upon what is found.

EDIT -- BTW - the Volume Slider on the front may need to be cleaned and lubed. Different environments may dry out the original lube and dust or corrosion could cause exactly those symptoms. One should use a good control cleaner/lube such as DEOXIT, attach the little straw and spray very small amount directly into the slot of the fader with the unit powered OFF, then move the fader back and forth full travel ten to twenty times in order to mechanically clean the fader's contacting surfaces. Turn the unit on and see if proper operation has been restored.
