I've just been informed that I am one of the grand prize winners of the Westone Sweepstakes. The is the company that Scott, Rockstar_not, works for. In fact Scott posted the link to the online entry form. The funny thing is that I had forgotten that I had entered and deleted the notifying email.
The prizes are:

Wow, other Don! What fabulous news! With that baby you will be pickin' and grinnin' big time!
I had a '57 Strat with Fender VibroLux amp in HS when I played keggers with Dylan. At the time, I think the package was about $700 which was roughly the price of a new car. At any rate, it represented a small fortune to a teenager. I was a pinsetter (qv) earning 10 cents per line. On league nights, setting two adjacent lanes, I could make a whopping $8. Chuckle.
Soon thereafter, I gave up my lucrative bowling alley job to join a Standards Band and started earning a modest living with my Strat. Today, that guitar would be worth a small fortune. Keep yours pristine and it will probably continue to grow in value.

Actually, I have 3 guitars in the closet. I pretty much quit playing guitar. I wasn't much good at it. I took up the piano, and there is nothing to brag about there either.
But you can bet, I'll give it a good try.

I remember there were folks worried about being spammed and so forth. Were you? Just curious - I don't work in our marketing department - but I have seen the boxes with the Strats in them in the Marketing Director's office.

Can't say that I was worried. I just sometimes get too anxious to delete.
Your marketing director called and assured me that I was in the loop. He said that they had some concern that the recipients would do just as I did. I guess his concerns were justified.
If I understood right, the stuff will be shipped next week.
