Just when I thought I was getting pretty well versed in BIAB functions, I'm thrown for a Loop. After converting a midi style song to a real track version, adding an intro, expanding to one large chorus etc as I normally do, I ran into a problem.
The problem is no matter how I save the new creation with real tracks, freeze tracks etc when I reopen the song later maybe a few days, all my volumes for each track are reset to zero (0) and the pans are all set to -63.
I correct the setting to what I want, resave, save as, save +, any and all combinations of the three saves, and it plays well as long as I pull it open from the recently play list. Once I close BIAB and go back a day or two later to reopen the file, I'm back to the corrupted settings.
Win XP, lots of ram etc.

this prolem just started about two weeks ago and I can't find a fix for it.
Any help is appreciated.

I am quite sure this does nothing to affect song files.

question:
if you close BIAB, then reopen and start the song from the recent files list, are the volume and panning correct? Or does it only stay correct if you open and close the file without closing BIAB?
if it opens from the recent play list (after BIAB has been closed and reopened) and all your saved settings are there, my guess is that when you saved it the first time, you inadvertently saved it to a different location,. In other words, you could have two versions of the song.
If that's the case, When you open it from the recent play list, you are opening the edited version without explicitly seeing where it is stored. That could be why the tweaks are intact.
When you open the file from its original location, you could be getting a version that was saved before your tweaks.
To test this theory, search your hard drive for the song's file name. If you find more than one file, the one with the most recent save date is probably the version with correct panning and volume
Or not.

Return to Factory Settings would be the fastest way to try to correct this.
There are Prefs settings that may be affecting those two parameters and maybe you changed them or maybe you didn't change them, remember, there is a volatile file in bb that the program must be able to write to upon closing and that if there was a crash, program freeze or other "ungraceful" exit at any time, that file can indeed become corrupted, with exhibits of odd behavior from then on. Until you do the Return to Factory dance.

Thanks Pat, That was my first thought, so I double checked that scenario and it has happened on half a dozen songs or so, so I'm thinking something in the program got tweaked somewhere.
Mac, thanks for the affirmation to Rachael's sugguestion. I guess that's the next move, because things have been a bit squirlly with the puter lately, and I had to do a hard shutdown / reboot thing a couple of times due to issues with another program.
I'll try the factory reset and let everyone know how it turns out.

The Reset seems to have done the trick, at least of two of the songs, I'll play with the others later. Thanks for the help to all who responded.
