It would be wrong of your friend to think of getting BIAB as an upgrade from Sibelius. At best, it's an addition. If what he is after is to read the melody documented in Sibelius into BIAB then that is possible given that Sibelius will save MIDI files. BIAB will also interpret a chord progression from the MIDI file. The interpreted chords would have varying degrees of accuracy depending on the amount of information in the saved MIDI file.

The above being said, though, as you are aware, it really doesn't take too much time to type a chord progression into BIAB.

To my way of thinking, his best bet is to save a couple of MIDI files from Sibelius and then have you load them into BIAB so that he can see what happens.
