I have several songs with an intro and an ending in BB, usually with several choruses for improvisation. I wanted to print them out to bring to a jam session and to print out just the intro, the first chorus with the melody and the ending, if possible all on one page.

1) I can print out the first chorus with the intro, usually on one page
2) If the intro is somewhat longer than four bars it usually takes up more than one page
3) I cannot seem to print the intro and the ending, together with the first chorus of the melody

Any suggestions?

How many bars is it in total?

Sometimes we can use the Options window inside the Fakesheet view to lower the overall Font sizes to gain a bit more room.

But there are limitations.

I have songs that end up being printed out on two pages. Since I use plastic notebook paperholders, I just place those in the books so they lie open on both pages, with the 1st page on the LH side.

Using the export as .pdf command and a .pdf editor software, it may be possible to shrink size to fit one page and then print it from the .pdf editor.

before BIAB had returns and such, I used to create a 'print' version of the song by deleting everything in the song I didn't need. Of course it wouldn't play properly, but I could get the essential stuff to print on one page.
I did have to get out the magic pencil to mark endings and insert the : repeat marks, but it did the job

Right...and in similar threads some have suggested just duplicating the form in Real Book type charts and then add any notation symbols you might need with a Sharpie pen and/or White Out anything you don't want that BIAB puts in by default.

But I agree that as long as I can get what I want on two facing pages, I'm a happy camper. Doing so often allows larger and more legible font sizes.

I save those unplayable versions with (Print) next to the title.

Best,
Jim

Play around with the Fakesheet bars/line found in the Leadsheet Opt screen. It defaults to 4 bars/line but you can enter anything there. Some examples:

8 - 8 bars/line
8,4 - 8 bars on first line and 4 on remaining lines
4,4,6,4 - 4 bars on first two lines, 6 bars on next line and 4 bars on remaining lines

I've done stuff like 4,4,4,6,4,4,8,4 to get my score on one page

Good luck,
R
