Is there a way to adjust the DirectX/VST Window size? It appears to auto-size up to a point...but if Native Instruments Kontakt 5 player is used the window chops off the bottom and right side of the VST's control display making some critical functions unusable.

This shows the display window in Sonar:

I don't have that particular player but tried all the ones I have and there all fine. Have you clicked on the maximize button? How about changing screen resolution?

I've asked about this before, too. What you need to do is to pull down the top part of the window a little bit, and then use the slider on the right to re-fit the Kontakt Window. Maybe in the next version this will be fixed.

BTW, how do you like Session Horns?

silvertones & jford - Thanks for the quick replies.

As a programmer, I can say that the drawing surface of the window itself evidently has default maximum boundaries set. The window frame itself can be independently pulled/pushed/maximised but the frame's contents (the controls and graphics of the VST) will not expand past a certain internally set limit.

Hopefully Peter may soon respond to this.

@jford - The horns are nice and very usable!

Have you tried changing screen resolutions? Not saying it's the problem but I've discovered RB is sensitive to that in certain situations while other programs work fine.

jazzmammal - Yes.

Native Instruments VST screens are larger than others I have. I can turn off the browser which shuts off all the stuff on the left side which gives me full access to the cutoff section on the right...but that still leaves the bottom cutoff and the loss of its controls.

My NI Guitar rig fits fine and it's bigger then the player your showing, or it looks like it.

silvertones - I don't have the NI Guitar Rig but here is a full screen shot from my 1920x1080 monitor view:

The VST window takes up more than half the real estate.

The problem is having the 4 VST slots at the top, which uses a lot of screen real estate. If those could be moved to the left of right side of the Window, it would do a lot to let these VSTs display properly on the screen.

The window can be resized so you could scroll the 4 VST slot control out of view...but the contents of the window have a fixed maximum dimension. This is a programming issue on the window parameters themselves and the way the window is drawn/redrawn. Once the window is activated to appear, it sets these values into the window structure and that window is allocated memory space for its display.

The Kontakt window can be resized.

Click 'options' on the Kontakt menu, choose 'interface' in the popup window, click the 'reset size' button, and close the popup. Then you can drag the lower right corner of the Kontakt window to fit.

Here's a video:
