How many VST's do you typically load to get the best sounding playback performance from your BB or RB, and what was the total cost of this particular VST collection ? - was it worth the money, and did you do a lot of auditioning before you settled on this set (if so, how did you come to decide on the particular VST you chose) ?

Hi Joe,
This may not be the answer you want to hear, but I have to say that I get the most mileage from my assortment of Hardware MIDI synths solutions. And zero latency.
The Ketron SD2 sounds purty good with BiaB.
And, the hardware changes easily over to the next OS and computer without hassles.

I also vote for Forte, will be giving Sampletank a whirl soon but Forte works very well and it's dead simple.
Intel i5, 8 GIG, M-Audio NRV10, M-Audio BX8's, Cubase, BIAB, Win 7

Another vote for Forte. As value for money it's hard to beat.
My only extravagance has been Edirol Orchestral. Everything else I use is freeware - there's some excellent stuff available if you have the time to hunt for it.

VST's or VSTi's?
VSTi; i use one (Forte) just so I have one, but like Mac I use hardware synths for anything worth recording.
VST; I use a ton of them. Some free some not. I like Kjaerhaus Classic Compressor and Reaplugs on the free side. Ambience is one of my favorite reverbs (also free) The guy that created Ambience worked with support here to make it work smoother in PG effects slots
Parmeter and Ozone are a couple of my favorite VST paid plugins, both worth the price (to me). Forte is worth every penny, it's just that I have much better hardware sitting here so I use it, but I gladly paid for it. Then again I paid $500 for a RAP10 card that went obsolete fairly quickly so I may not make the best choices sometimes. On the plus side I did find a working system with an ISA slot, so I may try to revive that card someday.
There is a thread around here with a list of plugins known to work in PGProducts and used by various members here.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
