Try using the Search function inside the Stylepicker to view and audition the various Latin Styles.

In the Search parameter, enter "Latin" without the quotes. When you hit okay, the first available style with "Latin" anywhere in the description will be highlighted. To view the next candidate style, simply hit the G key.

Here's what I do to find the "perfect" style for a song when I'm not sure which style might be the best possible choice:

1) First, load a songfile or create one that has the chord changes, layout, etc. that you would use for the Style of song you are interested in creating.

2) Check the "Loop" function to the right of the Song Title slot. This will force bb to start at the beginning and play the entire file over and over until you press Stop.

3) Hit GenPlay button (Play if using a version of bb earlier than 2013, when the name of the button has changed to GenPlay). Song should start playing with whatever style you loaded originally.

4) Open the Stylepicker window. At the bottom, find the checkbox that allows to load and play a highlighted Style upon DoubleClick.

5) Use the Search feature as mentioned above to rather quickly go through the Styles listings, but finding only those styles that meet your search criteria. No sense in having to pour through dozens of Pop or Rock, Country, etc. files if what you are afer is Latin, and this feature really helps out.

6) The Search parameter can be even further narrowed as you go along here, for instance, if you find a Latin style that is a Montuno, for example, and that seems to be closer to the style you are desiring for your song, you might then enter "Montuno" into the Search function. or "Bossa" or whatever seems to help narrow it down.

7) There is also a Filter at the bottom of the Stylepicker window that can be used to indicate every Style that has the same Tempo range, Feel (EVen or SWing) as the Style preszently loaded. Styles that match the one currently loaded and playing will have an Asterisk ( * ) in front of their Stylenames in the Main Window of the Stylepicker. Again, using the Play on Doubleclick command can load the highlighted style and you can hear what it will sound like on the currently playing song.

The above routine may seem to be a lot to do, but only at first. It takes longer to desribe this routine than it does to actually perform it.

And, I've been pleasantly surprised along the way. Many times I've found a Style that either works so well I'm amazed, or might take the thing in a slightly different direction but sounds great.

This method is something I also do as a matter of routine for songfiles I've already created in my various folders. Great way to explore the New Features and Styles that are introduced with new versions of bb. And old songfiles that I might otherwise not practice with anymore take on a new interest with such.

Have Fun,
