Wave file and the bb command to add as loop can indeed work as well.
Only the Melodist and Soloist tracks can be used for our own note entry, as the other tracks, being autoaccompaniment tracks, belong to the Styles and any notes added or edited there will be overwritten the next time the style file is told to generate or regenerate.
Doing a Copy command will result in the same notes being on both tracks. There's a Delete command in the same menu string that can easily do away with either one.
In the Melody Edit menu, locate the "Move to" command located just below the Copy command and use that to move your entered or recorded notes from Melody to Soloist track.
