Hello, I want to create solos only for bars 1 to 4, and then for bars 20 to 24 for example. I'm using the Custom button in the Soloist Dialog, but I notice something weird:

- If I check "OK to solo for an extra beat" and I don't like the last solo created, I click on Menu Edit > Erase From...To > and check only the Soloist. But I can get the Soloist track erased. Is this a bug?

- Every time I Generate the Soloist track for those bars, the extra beat bar receives another solo, making several solos overlapped.

Is there another way to create solos only for the bars chosen?

Is there a way to erase only the Soloist track for the bars chosen, leaving the other Soloist bars intact?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Aurelio from Brazil

Did you hit the PLAY button after editing the Soloist?

If not, and you hit Replay instead, that might be the problem.

PLAY forces the program to regenerate the songfile according to any changes.

REPLAY will play back the last saved songfile. Handy in terms of speed or when wishing to have the exact same accompaniment throughout a session.

As the 2013 BB Manual says: "The Replay button is now the [Play] button. It plays a Band-in-a-Box arrangement without regenerating the parts."

Every time I hit the Play button after editing the Soloist, without regenerating.

My problems are:

- How to generate solos only for some bars, for example 4 bars for the intro, 8 bars in the middle and 8 bars in the end of a song.
- How to erase only the soloist track for some bars that you didn't like.

Thanks Mac!

Hit F5 at the bar you want to change the soloist to either play or not play, selecting "Mute" or "Back to Normal" edgewise. No need to delete either... just "Mute" the soloist, using the F5 key at the bar where you want soloist to be quiet.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks MikeK, F5 helped a lot but "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" (key of G)

I think BB could be more intuitive, like Soundtrek Jammer where you can mark only the "regions" you need to work. For example, if I want to generate solo only for the bars 1 to 4, I mark them, loop thru them and generate until I get satisfied.

If you have changed anything in the songfile, such as deleting a soloist over a number of bars, hitting Play will only play the last generation. Got to hit Gen/Play in order to hear your changes.

I am sorry, but I don't have that much experience with use of multiple soloists to give you any tips here, let's hope someone comes along who does, or perhaps one of the experts at pgmusic who are on the sales or development team can chime in.
