How about just a warning screen flash instead?
Sometthing like this: You go to create a Soloist and when you hit Okay, the flash pops up, "There is already music data on the Soloist track, continuing to write data will Delete it. Okay to Overwrite?" YES NO CANCEL
Or something like that...
