It is benign, though, in the sense that you've already found the "cure". -- Reload the song.

It does seem benign. BIAB is a great application. It has helped me for years. The company is responsive and helpful.

[The following rant is aimed at the developers, and not at you, Mac.]

However, this kind of bug would be benign if it was the only one. But there are many like it, and with all the workarounds (like reloading a song) that are needed, they are no longer benign, they are a major annoyance. I've found about four major problems just today on my very-standard laptop.

Example: let's say I want to change the display font, put in repeats, and print a song. Here's what I have to do:

1. Load song - I get above-mentioned font problem, so I have to reload the song.
2. Choose Opt/Preferences/Display and Custom. It seems that nothing happens. Turns out the font dialog appears behind the other windows. Workaround by clicking on icon in task bar twice.
3. Auto-find and apply first/second endings
4. Print a song -- but there are no first/second endings. I have to first go to the leadsheet window, because otherwise the first/second endings are ignored.
5. Choose auto-set for the # staves per page.
6. Print it.
7. The number of staves per page is wrong, because I didn't first do a print preview.
8. The lyrics do not line up properly because they don't take the 1st/2nd endings into consideration.
9. I exit the program and it crashes. The "Band in a box application has encountered a problem..." dialog appears repeatedly, and I must open task manager and end the BBW.exe process.

All of the six bugs mentioned here are benign. But put them together and they are malignant.
