1) Sometimes when I click the Save button (not Save As) to save an existing file that has previously been saved and opened, BIAB opens a SaveAs dialog and then asks me if I wish to replace existing file. And other times when I click the Save button it just saves it as I would expect. Anyone else have this problem?
2) Somewhat related, sometimes when I load a song or quit BIAB it fails to warn me that my current song has been changed and I lose the changes. I know I can just establish a workflow to always save first but it really should catch this. Anyone else seen this?

This happens when you change certain aspects of the song. For instance, if you add a melody BiaB wants to change the file extension to MGU from SGU and will open the SaveAs dialog. Similarly, if you change the melody or soloist to/from multi channel BiaB will change the extension from/to MGX/MGU. This is normal behaviour.

I hvae also noticed a few changes that BiaB misses. Not many but some. Changing a VST for example. However, it really is up to the user to save those kind of changes.

Yes, both these happen quite often especially #1. If I make changes, sometimes BIAB fails to ask me if I want replace the file when I hit Save+.

Yeah, that makes sense but this happens over and over on the same song without me changing anything! Seems like once it happens it is more likely to happen again on that song.

I've had the same issue with the save button opening the Save As window. First windows program that ever did that!

I recall seeing this many years ago with Windows Vista and the then-new experience of UAC (User Account Control). I have not experienced anything like it with Windows 7 or 8. What version of Windows are you running, those with a problem?
(And please note, as explained above by Paul, often BIAB is working correctly by invoking the Save As dialog.)
