Hello again  When I save a realtrack as a "performance track" to my song, then play it back, the audio is distorted. This is what I've done: 1. Created bass, drums and guitar as performance tracks (wav or wma) 2. The track is highlighted in orange with a star 3. I then disabled realdrums & realtracks in settings 4. Played back the song and the audio distorts, as if each track is doubled e.g. 2 bass tracks playing help! Rally

You may have inadvertently created an AUDIO track that is playing along withe the bb performance. Try Rightclicking on Audio and Mute or Kill the Audio track, see if that clears it up.
Rightclick on the Combo and also the Bass track, make sure that converting to Audio is UNchecked.

Check the directory where the song is and see what files have been created. Each Performance track should have the part appended to the song name. Example, the bass part for 'MySong' should be 'MySong Bass' etc. The audio file Mac mentioned will be just called 'MySong'.
How did you create those files?
I don't think you need to disable RTs/RDs to play Performance Tracks. If BIAB finds them, the regular part is muted and the audio track takes it's place.

Thanks for the info:
This is how I created it:
1. Created a song with realtracks for bass and guitar & realdrums track
2. The 3 tracks are highlighted in green
3. Then right-clicked over each track and selected "save as performance file wma/wav"
4. The tracks then are highlighted in orange
5. I see the 3 audio tracks created; mysong bass.wav, mysong drums.wav etc.
So yeah, as Mac says, it seems like the "performance track" (orange) is also playing with another generated realtrack for each track...thats why I disabled the realtrack/realdrums in settings

I don't know if you solved your problem? If not, try listening to each of the .wav files and see if they sound OK. If no other tracks are green or yellow, nothing else should be playing except those performance tracks (orange). What happens when you mute all parts but one? Does it sound OK?
Try another song and see if the problem persists. It could be a corrupted BIAB file although not likely. And if all else fails, Opt|Return to factory settings may fix it.

There's a bit about "performance tracks" on page 42 of the 2013 User's Manual. The pdf for this manual is found as a link under "Start Menu | Band In A Box".
Unless you're sending BIAB files to friends who don't have the Realtracks you've used in a song, I can't think of a reason to use performance tracks over "Freeze Track".

While that certainly is the intention, I have found that on old slower machines, using performance tracks is extremely valuable. I have an 8 year old XP machine that I sometimes use. By using performance tracks, generation time is a matter of seconds. Without them, it sometimes takes minutes - even with frozen tracks.

Thanks Rachael, and Noel I found out when i dropped the volume by about half of what it usually it is for each track, it sounds fine Will still check out your recommendations
