Recalling a few posts back about how young everyone is and another on what are the best songs for us, what do you think about these: "the best songs for those over 50"? Of course, it's from AARP so beware! http://www.aarp.org/entertainment/music/info-03-2012/songs-50-year-olds.html

Now, another reason I'm happy I dropped the AARP membership 20 years ago.
I had to "bail" on the ladie's suggestions (she must have bee a hippy youth)
when I laboriously arrived at #6 Gangsta’s Paradise (Coolio, 1995)!!!

It looks like AARP is looking for more of the younger baby boomers to join!
I’m glad I bailed also!

The first version I heard of "Gangsta Paradise" was a parody called "Al Gore's Paradise". I like the Al Gore version better.

How ironic - as one of the younger members of this circle, I like the AARP !!! They're interested in trying to help preserve the Social Security system I think we all deserve to have (even if the politicians use that money for their OWN purposes instead of what it was designed for) - don't know where you guys stand, but I can't imagine people working at BJ's, McDonald's and Costco - nice people with lower potentials or opportunities than others, funding their own retirment. Ultimately, thought, the taxpayer will fund their needs one way or another - even if that has to occur at Emergency Rooms and other disability and welfare programs.
But back to AARP - they have interesting articles in their publications also - I always read my mother-in-laws copy and enjoy it : )

I quit because they supported the tax on Social Security. That was passed during the Clinton administration.
