I am currently running 2 LG 1080 LG HD TV's (42" and 47")as dual monitors for my old Dell desktop.
Finally decided to take the plunge and try to build a new desktop which I plan to use strictly for my Photoshop illustration and BIAB/RB music production. I'll use the old Dell for online and all other stuff.
Is there a simple way to switch the dual TV monitors between the 2 computers? I see there are various KVM switch boxes but can't seem to determine by their descriptions if they will do what I want. Some are over $100 and don't want to spend that if it's not going to work.
Any computer geek/gurus out there who have done this and what is the least expensive way outside of plugging and unplugging the DVI/VGA/HDMI connections?
Thanks for any help. Carkins

Carkins,
I own a SVGA switch and it work fine. By using SVGA you do lose your PC's smart abilities to sensing what type of monitor is there.
The DVI switches do tend to cost more, not quite sure why tho.
Been dealing with this company for 25-30 years. Excellent working with them.
Good luck.

As I understand it, the boxes I'm seeing will only let 2 (or more) computers switch between one monitor (the switch boxes only have 1 video port, not 2) What I need is for the two computers (A &B) to switch between a dual set of 2 monitors (1&2). If the switch box is switched to computer A then computer A will have access to both monitors 1&2 then after you switch it to computer B, computer B will have access to both monitors 1&2. Maybe this feature is only available on the high end boxes? Thanks for any input. My computer is new but my mind is old Carkins

Sorry bout that did not explore the boxes enough. I have this unit... http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/83-3310You can run the box routing backwards. Take note of second Picture. Not sure this would resolve... but only cost a few minutes to expolre.

Thanks for the link to mcelectronics.com Very good site. Talked to another computer guy who suggested an HDMI switch since both of the TV's have HDMI inputs. However after weighing all the ins and outs and costs of the different switch boxes I elected to KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) off the idea and just hook up my pair of Niko 22" monitors to the old computer for web browsing. Not as cool as surfing with the 40+ inchers but no switching or extra hardware to buy and can continue to work in Photoshop or BIAB/RB while I surf.. Money saved can go for more Realtracks Also a good learning experience. Thanks again for the input. Carkins
