Hi Dave,

It's called "intrface.bbw" and is in the \bb folder. What makes it hard to find is that there's no 'e' in the spelling of the file's name.

Regards,
Noel

Dave,

Do you have the \bb folder in the Program Files directory?

And the reason he asked is that, if you do, you shouldn't. This is a known source of problems.

The better place to install Band in a Box is in C: bb folder, the default.

Installing to Program Files can be problematic with Win7 and above, because BB needs to be able to WRITE to certain files as it opens and closes, but these newer operating systems don't like to allow that write to happen, viewing it as a possible danger as in virus, trojan etc.

Answer then is to install bb to any folder BUT the Program Files folder.

Hi again, Dave.

I see. You run BIAB from the USB drive it came on. You shouldn't be getting any problems if that's the case.

Did you run the setup program on the USB drive when BIAB first arrived? This setup program offers 4 different types of installation. I'm not sure what number the option is but that one that allows a user to run BIAB from the USB drive is called something like "minimal installation, all files on an external drive". If this setup program wasn't run, I know that that can result in problems.

In relation to not being able to stop a file from playing, it sounds like you might have rendered the file to a wav file. If this is the case, the wav file will play even though all the other sounds are turned off. To get rid of the wav file, go to "Audio" on the top menu and then select "Edit Audio" and then "Kill Entire Audio".

Hope this helps,
Noel

And just FYI, the file "intrface.bbw" is not spelled "interface.bbw". If you are using a search function, you won't find it if you use the second name. That one has tripped me up a couple of times.

You should need to locate intrface.bbw very rarely, anymore we only have to do that if BB for some reason or other refuses to open.

If BB opens but you have another problem, use of the Return to Factory Settings command under the Options menu inside BB will delete the current intrface.bbw file and write a new one, all automatically with one mouse click.

That's what it is there for.
