I have a huge problem trying to record my voice along with the song I created. The playback cuts out and in at random places during while recording my voice. The result is a disaster! I can't sing with the damn track if it keeps cutting out.
I thought it might be memory, so I bought 4 gig more, installed it and found that XP-32 bit doesn't recognize memory above 3.5G. So I upgraded to Windows 7-64 bit, installed my 2012.5 USB onto a brand new 1T hard drive, and still have the same problem.
I have also tried to record without using any Real Tracks, just going back to the Synth styles, and that doesn't work.
Is anyone else having this problem? I am ready to kill something.

What is your mic plugged into? And what audio driver are you using?

You're right...it ain't that bad. Don't laugh - my mic is part of my headset. I had a Shure mic plugged into a preamp, but it's not working. Hmm, my audio driver? What's that? I must have one, because I hear sounds....

Have you tried recording other than with BIAB ?? For example, the stock Windows voice recorder? Are you using ASIO or MME for BIAB Audio? Have you tried it with different styles? Play vs. GENERATE and play ? Your CPU might be overtaxed generating while recording ...

In all likelyhood the issue is the Driver, heck it is always a driver issue.
So are you just plugging the headset mic into the computer soundcard? or do you have an external audio device?
While it sounds like you have an adequite computer to run the program, I am suspecting you have a weak link in your audio interface.

This kind of thing can be trying, but we likely should be able to get you recording satisfactorily.
What is the make, type and brand of computer you are using?
What is the CPU of that computer? (My Computer, RightClick, choose Properties to see that report)
Are you running Band in a Box entirely installed on the c hard drive, or are you running it from a USB drive?
What VERSION of Band in a Box are you using? (Inside BB, in the Help menu, choose About and report the version of bb listed there, plus any number after it.
These questions would help us to help you because it may be important to know these things before any reply could be tailored to what's going on without putting you through a lot of "generic" solutions.
