This kind of thing can be trying, but we likely should be able to get you recording satisfactorily.

What is the make, type and brand of computer you are using?

What is the CPU of that computer? (My Computer, RightClick, choose Properties to see that report)

Are you running Band in a Box entirely installed on the c hard drive, or are you running it from a USB drive?

What VERSION of Band in a Box are you using? (Inside BB, in the Help menu, choose About and report the version of bb listed there, plus any number after it.

These questions would help us to help you because it may be important to know these things before any reply could be tailored to what's going on without putting you through a lot of "generic" solutions.
