Hi Ed,

I think you are referring to one of the new features in BiaB 2013.

RightClick on a trackname, could be Strings, but can use any track that does not presently have an instrument already on it, and select MIDI Supertracks from the menu that pops up.

In the Supertracks window, filter for "str" and you should see the choices for Strings there, pick the most appropriate sounding one for the task at hand.
