Hi everybody,
I am working with BiaB 2013 (366) for Windows.
I want to save the Drums in a MIDI-file to work with that MIDi-File on my RG-7 (Roland) for Play-Along.
My problem is, that the RG-7 does not accept the MIDI-files, generated by BiaB.
I am creating a song - muting all the track but the Drums. Than I go "Export Song as Midi-File" Type 1 (normal). It is saving the file on the USB stick. When loading this file in the RG-7 an error message appears.
What am I doing wrong?

Cudo, Are you using MIDI-based drums? It might be that your MIDI file has no drum data. By default, BIAB 2013 automatically substitutes Realdrums for MIDI drums. To enable MIDI drums, it's necessary to go to Opt | Preferences | Realdrums and then disable the "Substitute Realdrums for MIDI drums" option. If the Drum track is highlighted green as in the below image, then Realdrums are present and no MIDI data will write to a MIDI file. If the Drum track is highlighted yellow (like the Guitar track in the above image), then MIDI drums are present. Hope this helps, Noel

Also, if you are indeed saving MIDI drum track and not RealDrums, it may be that the Percussion Track on the target machine is assigned to a different MIDI channel than the one BB assigns it to, which is the basic GM drums on channel 10. Although it should still import but likely would play a weird sounding banging piano patch instead of drums if the channel were confused, I've experienced a few hardware MIDI devices, those dedicated recorders both standalone and inside keyboards, that simply just would not play until I changed the MIDI CHANNEL of the file to the one the machine uses for Percussion.

That helped!!!Thank You If the Drum track is highlighted green as in the below image, then Realdrums are present and no MIDI data will write to a MIDI file. The colors are red and green in my version. When green than midi data is present. Red tracks are muted. Hi Mac, the Durms are all assigned to channel 10. That's OK. But what am I wondering is the "brushes". Are there no "brushes" assigned in GM? Is there any chance to get brushes in GM?

Whether or not you hear the brushkit is a matter of the particular MIDI synth in use at the time. Some don't include a brushkit, but you have the option of selecting another MIDI synth that does.

Most if not all GM MIDIs have more than one drum kit with one of them being a brush kit, see http://www.pgmusic.com/tutorial_gm.htm
I arrived early to a restaurant. The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?" I said no. "Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"
