There was once a time when all we had was the Line Based Lyrics entry.
The workaround that I often used back then when wishing to add bars to the front of a song, as for example, adding an Intro or whatever, was to add the number of bars to the song, then go to the Notation/Lyrics entry edit window, and proceed to add Spaces or Tabs in FRONT of the existing lyrics until the remaining Lyrics had moved forward on the timeline to match.
However, now that we have Note Based Lyrics, I find that to be a far better solution anyway.
