Mac, thanks very much.

Those demo songs are a great resource!

Anyway, I *can* open the relevant demo, and the pedal steel plays throughout; ditto if I create a new song file, throw in some chords and hit play; so the problem must be with the particular song file I'd been using.

I wonder what could be the problem -- I didn't consciously change any song settings.

Don't know if it's relevant, but I have imported an audio file (via the Audio / Import Audio commend in the top menu) into the problematic song's Audio track , so that it plays along with BiB-generated accompaniment, although it does not influence the accompaniment -- it is solely for monitoring purposes, and is not referenced by BiB algorithms.

Some RealTracks do play in this song, so I wonder why the pedal steel would only play at the start.

Is there anywhere else I could look for troublesome settings?

Meanwile... it might make take a while to get to the bottom of this -- as a quick fix to let me continue working on the song, is there a way I can copy and paste the chords from one BiB song to another?

Normally I'd do Save As but that doesn't work here; I have to create a new file to get the pedal steel to play. I'd perfer not to key in all the chords manually from the old file.

Thanks again for your help.

so the problem must be with my song file. I don't see any of the asterisks you mention (at least I don't see them by the track names listed at the top left of the BiB menu, or in the mixer); and in fact when I right-cklicked the "Strings" item at the top left of the menu (this is where the pedal steel is assigned) I see that the track in fact is NOT frozen.
