Over the years, I've noticed that forum members speculations are usually trumped by PG managing to come up with some exciting new feature that nobody could predict.

I was just looking at his first post the other day and more time has elapsed since he made it, than we have to wait for 2014 to arrive.

And then when everything is ready at the PG end it will be all boxed and given to Santa who will Fly over your house come down your chimney and give it to you.

Or maybe if you are a little impatient you could fly up in your little plane and meet him half way so as to get it quicker.

Well...THANKS for yet another snotty post. You seem to take a great interest in the state of my relaxation...or the lack thereof. But trust me, I'm SO relaxed that I'm having trouble staying awake to read your snippy little posts.

"I'm sure PG and the beta testers are working flat out to include things in 2014 version that otherwise might have appeared in 2013.5 So in that sense the 2013.5 started by Pat Marr is very appropriate."

Who said anything about Pat's thread being inappropriate??? Certainly not I. But unless you chronically tip back too many pints of Guinness before posting here...my POINT was that it is quite unlikely that there is going to be any such thing as 2013.5 so that thread has become OBSOLETE. Get it??

Therefore...take a DEEP breath "Danny boy"...relax yourself and consider how APPROPRIATE a thread is that relates to version 2014. If you search the forum, you will find "version threads" for every single version released during the entire existence of this forum.

This isn't rocket science Danny old boy.

And how do you know what size airplanes I fly Danny old boy??? (HINT: I have multi-engine, COMMERCIAL and instrument ratings).

Finally, in case the above doesn't get through to your seemingly besotted brain, I don't care at all for your smart aleck and condescending posts...let alone your skewed sense of logic. (Yep...yep...lets keep posting to 2013.5 even AFTER 2014 is released. Would that suit you)?

This forum is almost unique in the world of internet forums for its CIVILITY. If you have a problem with me, let's take it to private messages. Or, maybe you could thumb a ride with Santa and we could continue the conversation in person. But if you do, be sure to pound back a LOT of that Guinness. It gets COLD up there.

(-:

Your Pal,

Jimmy Boy.

Jimmy,

Unless musiclover's name is "Danny" as mine, I think you are aiming in the wrong direction re: the "Danny Boy" statements above.

@DannyC.

Musiclover's signature identifies him/herself as being from Ireland...hence the "Danny Boy" name I bestowed upon him being spot on.

I certainly wasn't directing the comments to you but obviously directly to Musiclover. Did you think otherwise?

And for the record, I prefer being referred to as Jim...not Jimmy.

thanks,

JIM

Okay PGMusic forum members, its time to start building some excitement about version 2014 with a little pre-release chatter

Today is November 1st... version 2014 can't be too far away!

And considering they decided to skip 2013.5, WHATEVER'S in store for us in the upcoming release is almost certainly gonna be worth the wait!

Wish 1
I for one am hoping that they took the Super MIDI track idea a step further and have created MIDI drum tracks that are as good or better than the Real-Drum tracks.
This would allow for drum mixing via VST or drag and drop to a DAW.
Wish 2
Clean up the GUI/Menus. I really like BB after years of learning to work with the non-standard approaches. BB Sales would 10 X if they standardized the menus, and took a few GUI ideas from the DAW world.

At any rate I sure it will be well worth the upgrade price. :-)

I been running my DAWs in 64 bit mode for about 4 or more years as the only advantage is more memory, which helps if you have many high memory samplers running and don't want to freeze them.

It is not clear to me why people would put it top on their wish list for BIAB though.

I don't see BiaB benefiting a lot from 64 bit, but Realband may .. either one would be a lot of work.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

If experience with SONAR is any guide, it seems that going all 64-bit (OS and program and plugins) yields the most stability. Adding 32-bit plugins can be problematic.

I stand corrected.

The request for 64 bit seems to be coming from those who desire to use the 64 bit plugins that are able to do more than the 32 bit coding.

These 64 bit coded plugins, VST mostly, able to sound better, nothing I can say is wrong about the desire for better sound when the technology is already there.

I've been one who has agreed that for the vast majority of Biab users 64 bit means squat. There's a few power users who like to set up complex high end VSTi's to use with Biab but most just use a regular old GM synth either a module of software.

But, now I think enough time has passed and considering nobody is selling 32 bit systems any more and also considering how much stock people put into appearances (What!? Biab is still 32 bit!?) it's time for PG to step up into the modern PC world even if it's not really necessary for most users. At this point it simply looks bad.
