Hi all; I did this one in BIAB, then went into RB and added effects. I was tired tonight, so I used all realtracks. Hope you don't mind. It's called "Powder Blue". No offense to all you sax players out there, Just didn't think you had time to come over. Although the coffee is always on! Great fun! Nice raunchy tone to the guitar. Sax kinda sounded like it was in the next room, or at least way over on the other side of the stage, but I wouldn't know how to fix it so what am I talking about. Get some rest and do whatever else you think needs doing. Love to hear the result.

Who's the blond bomb? I'm effectively distracted... There are drums in this thing somewhere, right? Lead sounds fine. Nice work. I think the rhythm guitar lost the groove into the guit. solo section, going into the IV (I - IV - V) chord change.... anyway... lovely lady... nice axe work and sax work is the best....

This one needs fleshed out and a good vocal added to it IMO.

That's definitely the largest trio I've ever heard before! What real track was that guitar part starting at 0:53? Sounded cool. There were some rough spots in there, but it was a cool jam. I read the thread Poppa was talking about and I think Levi would have issues with this one.

Thank you Mac. I always value your input.
Kevin; That is old #583, blues guitar roadhouse. The uncontrollable one I call it. One generation it will be tasty, and the next time, it is , dittily, dittily, dittily, dittily, ditilly, for like 4 solid measures. Annoying, for sure. Which brings me to a question I was going to ask any way. . .
1. Is there a way to edit realtracks to our own preferences? Many are great, except for this annoying riff out of nowwhere, that really ruins it, unless if used for only, say, 2 beats of one measure. There are a couple of riffs in 2 or 3 guitar realtrack solos, that if I could edit them, I could use them for many, many songs.
Thank you all; Gene

I don't work that much with RealTs & Ds but if you render them to waves, then you can perform major surgery on the wav, much as working with your voice. If there's a two bar section you hate then find a two bar section you like, delete copy paste. Yep it would slow the production process but if it works . . . .
Cheers

Thanks Ian; I might try that. I try to do as much as I can in BIAB. I do like Real Band. It has a lot of good features. I'm just not real good yet at copying and pasting wav's. I have a bit of trouble with syncing up at the right place. Maybe there is a snap feature to put it right on the mark. I will check.

Don't be afraid to add a realtrack several times on a track like that. I have done up to four just to get a part I like. Sometimes the play the same and then surprise you. I edit heavily in Reaper or n-Track too. Are you doing everything in RB or BIAB? no outside DAW?
Snap 'em to a grid in the same BPM you programmed them in and learn to edit. They're all bits and pieces anyway. You might as well learn to get the bits and pieces you want!

Hi Poppa;
I have not quite figured out what everyone means when they say "DAW". But I usually do as much as I can in BIAB. I like to dial it in using F5 bar edits. However I found out RB does not recognize these. So I go as far as I can, export to WAV, and then into RB for final mixdown. I have imported into RB as individual tracks, which I prefer, as it gives me more control over the individual tracks. And I can select sections of a track I don't like and just recompose that section. I have tried removing sections of tracks in RB to achieve the same thing as the F5 in BB, but found it tedious. If RB would recognize bar edit muting of instruments, I could dial these songs in really fast. I suppose I could just do it all in RB also. I think I could put the chords and all in. I just got this thing about picking all my instruments that I want, and then telling BB where to have them come in. There may be a better way to do that?

Gene - You're probably more knowledgeable in BIAB than I am. What I do is start in BIAB - write all my breaks etc then go to RB with the file. I add all my instruments at once for the entire song. Sometimes even several or two of each. Then I "save all tracks" to either 'wav all' or 'wav and mid' in the audio drop down menu. It usually sounds way over done but being an editing junkie from way back, I like to have more to work with than I will ever use. I'm basically gathering building material at this stage, with a general idea of where I'm going with the tune.
I then import all the files into a new song project in say, Reaper - which a part of my Digital Audio Workstation or DAW as is RealBand and BIB, along with my hardware.
Once in Reaper I can edit at will - choosing, moving, combining parts, eliminating parts, adding EQ and effects etc. This all can be done in Realband but I honestly have not had time to learn the software so I use it basically as a wav generator into Reaper, which I am very familiar with. I can sometimes find notes from an entirely different section to cover a sustain lets say for a break on an instrument. I have even cut and pasted single notes to do this. It's easy in my editing software and can add a lot. I do hope to learn Realband and BIAB, but it's so good at doing what I ask from it now...........
So that's it on my DAW. Make sense?

PW; Yep, makes sense. You do it the exact way that I am resisting. LOL. Guess it's time for me to learn some new ways. Alot more creative control for sure.

And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
