I have created several BIAB songs arrangements that are a close to likeness the melody.

Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDEs7rwRZy8&list=TLcErT_pTSdJcZB8927B5vDvfVFrPrR-gq

Another Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs_fl2LkFOU

Here are the realtracks used. They can be can be used for similar songs.

Bass Piano Drums Guitar Strings
533 528 Nash 128 372 976

532 527 Nash 128 969/976 50 Midi Slow strings.

How this done is including further into this post.

Bottom line you create realtracks combination that result in a STYLE resembles, likeness, or close to the actual melody.

That's because a lot of the tunes of that era used a lot chord tones for the melodies. So you are bound to get some likeness's

The Melody of All of Me is NOT being played there at all.

Chris you are right. That's how I determined which songs could be arranged with a likeness or close to the melody.

However, since it was difficult to find songs of this type manually I had to write a computer program that would give these types of relationships and patterns between melody and chords. I had to select from the computer output those that would work and those that were not acceptable.

Another example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs_fl2LkFOU

Some of my customers prefer this type of arrangement. Those that are close are have a likeness of the melody.

Doing it this way, with only the Chord Changes being played, means that your not in any danger of violating any known Copyrights.

That's a good thing.

Thanks for the comment about copyright. I was never sure about if chord arrangement were protected. Never could get a clear answer from the opinions or not smart enough to understand what I was reading.

Mac I have talked to in many posts over the years. You are going to next ask how I picked a certain group of Realtracks. That was the hard part. It required some help
with computer analysis.

However, the early post by Chris certainly rings true, certain song chord combinations and melody reflect a likeness to the melody.

oscarcat,

Thanks for info, it/you did a nice job.
Did try that out along with several others and gave up.
Ended up purchasing MovAvi capture studio for about $35 bucks.
Been very happy with its audio and video capture abilities.

Keep on "Vidin' "

.

Here is a case when I was able to get Realtracks to match a motif of a song I wrote. It was just luck, really. I happened to choose a RT that had a couple key notes that matched my melody. With careful cut-and-pasting I got the RT to back up my MIDI melody.

Easy to spot at 2:00 ...

Flatfoot: There may be a copyright problem due to your note choices during the opening of the melody there.

All Creatures Of Our God And King (with lyrics) performed by Maranatha! Music.
Originally composed by St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d3gO6qDLNA

I hesitated twice before posting this, but then figured you ought to know.

I looked it up. I got it from the Unitarian hymnal. They list the tune as coming from a German hymnbook dated 1605.

... Maybe Maranatha has rights to the arrangement you posted.

Most Hymnals list the copyright informations in one place in the book.

It may be covered by that, even though referencing the 1605 date, dunno.

You likely should say that you "adapted" it rather than "wrote" it.

The Cease and Desist letter would likely come first, lawsuits are actually rare, but in both cases these typically don't emanate from the copyright holders anyway.

Such comes from Attorneys.

And they subscribe to a mighty different religion...

Here some realtracks combinations that often, but not always, produce a melody likeness to other similar to songs those are posted. The numbers are the realtracks ID.

Bass Piano Drums Guitar Strings
533 528 Nash 128 372 976

532 527 Nash 128 969/976 Midi Slow strings.

Guess the drum choice could be any.

I have a table of other realtrack that work with other song types. "Bottom line it's the way realtracks are constructed that makes them produce a melody likeness when combined." I found some combination get closer than other to the melody likness. Of course "any" likeness to the melody make it easier for some folks to sing with a backing track created in the manner.

The 969/976 choice. The melody was 120 tempo and any time you put 976 BIAB defaults back to 969. 969 will work but I like the 976, even thought timing off, will work very well if you raise your song tempo to 140 and select 976 and then lower the arrangement back to 120. I like the 976 track. Since it's and electric guitar it can have a wide range of sounds. Even thought the 976 realtrack is set to 140 by BIAB it produces the sound I like at 120.

Maybe BIAB can give the user an option for the tempo or timing of a Jazz or Electric Guitar.

I have pulled this trick on other electric guitar tracks and bass and it give some interesting and exotic sounds which work well with some selections
