I don't usually find a neck shape or even fingerboard width that is so bothersome to me, Scott, of course there are some I like better than others.

But in switching from a 335 type to something like that Tele, my recommendation to spend a week or two one on one with the axe has more to do with things like pups, sound, bite, treble (!) and the likes.

Someone who is used to humbuckers may just find that bridge pup to be a bit hard to tame in public.

Of course, such caveats would not apply to someone who has already spent their time with the Tele format. Then it would be more like shaking hands with an old friend again.
