Hi,
it's a long time since I wrote my last song with BiaB.
I remember that I did highlight a bar and then simply wrote with the keyboard the chord symbols.
This is not working any more. What am I doing wrong?

Hi cudo,
All that I do is to click on the bar that I want to enter the chord in and then type the chord name. I do this in Chord Sheet View.
When you say "this is not working", do you mean that the chord is not entering on the chord sheet or it enters on the chord sheet but when the song is generated, it's not making a difference?
Also, is it any special chord that your wanting to enter?

No need to highlight a bar first. I'm not sure I understand. Does that mean that if he doesn't highlight a bar it will fix the problem he's having?

I'm not sure either because I'm not sure what problem cudo is having. "Highlight" to me means to click and drag, turning a measure (or group of measures) black. One does not do that to enter chords. If it's something else, more detail will help.

I can't write anything into the bars of the song. When I hit a letter on the computer keyboard it will appear in the very tiny box beneath the "song" and "style" box on the left edge of the screen. This won't change also when I click with the mouse onto a bar.
The only way to write a chord in a bar is to press control F2.

The only way to write a chord in a bar is to press control F2. Try rebooting the computer first. If still the same in BB: Try "Return to Factory Settings" button under the Options menu. --Mac

I cannot make a factory reset. When trying to do so a box containing the following message appears:
"Cannot creat file ... access denied".
PS
Also I noticed now, I cannot quit anymore the programm. I have to do it with the Task Manager.

Now I deinstalled the whole program.
Then I clicked on the Setup.EXE on the BiaB harddisk and installed all new.
Then I clicked on the Band-in-a-Box.exe icon on the harddisk and started the program again.
The chord input is now working. But quitting the program remains appearing the same message as before: "Cannot creat file ... access denied".

Did you install into the "Program Files" folder? That can be problematical with systems and sntivirus that protect against programs that automatically write to the folder when opening and closing. I just install Band in a Box to C: bb which is the default. --Mac
