Does anyone know how UserTracks handle passing tones? For example, C-D-E-F-G works fine in C major over a C chord.

But if I have a song in G major and use the same riff on a C chord without transposing, the F will clash with the F# in the key signature.

Do UserTracks account for the base key signature? That is, does it limit the transposed chord to functioning over the same scale degree in the new key signature, or does it just transpose it and hope for the best?

I don't have BiaB 2014 (yet), and I'm trying to figure out what sort of riffs would work well with UserTracks. If passing tones aren't accounted for, it's obviously safer (but more boring) to stick with chordals.

If I do end up creating UserTracks, time stretch and pitch correction in my DAW are going to become best of friends. blush

A related question: when UserTracks are transposed, are they limited to upward transpositions? Otherwise things like flute and bass would go beyond their range, which might sound a bit odd.

Thanks!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?
