My usual vendor for musical equipment (hardware/software) has checked with his distributor and can't get any dates as to when BiaB 2014 will be available. Maybe 2-4 weeks or after the NAAM Show.

In the meantime I found out that EastCoastMusic.com is offering the EverythingPak 2014 for $384.99. That a significant discount over the normal List price of $569.

Has anyone ever done business with them? I tried calling them and only got a recorded message to leave my tel #. No response so far.

I was curious, so I checked out eastcoastmusic with BBB. They gave the company an "F" rating. I think the no returned phone call should be a sign.

Here was a complaint listed at BBB:

Complaint: Choral music order not delivered. Ordered and PAID for in May. East Coast Music required payment up front, saying that the publishers would not send out music without payment. Music ordered was never received from East Coast Music.Organization ended up ordering and receiving music from another company, just one day before we needed it. East Coast Music owner contacted by phone and email for refund, which has not yet been made.

Desired Settlement: The organization paid $925, check #*** dated 5/8/12, which cleared our bank on May 21, 2012. We had to pay an additional amount to get the music from another company and now expect a refund from East Coast Music.

BBB's Final Determination: Business failed to respond to the BBB to resolve or address the complaint issues.

Thanks!

That's why I didn't click on the "add to cart" icon. Even if I did talk to someone, I would have been nervous ordering from them. The reason for this post.

Thanks again for your effort.

Peter Gannon told us they were shipping drives to vendors later this week. I don't see any reason a legitimate vendor would be talking about a delay.

I don't know about East Coast Software, but good for you for checking them out before ordering. If it helps, you won't find any vendor better to deal with than PG Music itself.

Absolutely.

While I do realize that these trying economic times drive the situation, in this particular case I'd recommend getting Band in a Box 2014 from the SOURCE, the cost only "appears" to be cheaper at the other places and it is unlikely that they even have the product in stock at that place anyway.

PGMusic, on the other hand, has always been straightforward with sales, product support after the sale, fast deliveries and people who are positively out to help you and me, the customer.

The Top Man at PG, Peter Gannon, (see, he puts his initials and his name on the stuff), posts personal help and advice on these forums. Not appointing some kid that was hired parttime yesterday, no, the personal approach from a guy who is as much about doing the same as his famous motto: "Have Fun"

Order from PGMusic and join in the FUN.

Matt,

Thanks for the info.

This is a major retailer I'm talking to. If PG will be shipping later this week, (Tomorrow) it fits in with the 2 to 4 weeks they quoted me. (PG ships to their distribution center, who in turn ships to the stores, plus time to set up product codes, change WEB sites, etc.)

I've purchase a lot of equipment/software from them, and they treat me well. If some manufacturers won't let them discount their products (I assume PGM does this since even Amazon sells BiaB for list price) then they take care of me by throwing in a free "thingy", just as PGM throws in free software.

There is no doubt in my mind that PG Music is a great company and that BiaB will be "fun" to "play" with, but for reasons I've stated I try to make my purchases with this one vendor. This might change if I can't order it by the end of December.

One other factor is that my oldest son came up for Thanksgiving and I recorded him playing Trumpet, Sax, and Clarinet using Sonar for ten Christmas songs. He used to play in my band along with my Dad who played lead trumpet (iron lips).

I need to add the the keyboard parts and mix it all down so I'm going to be very busy anyway.

I think this forum is great and appreciate all the tips you, Mac and others give to answer the "how do I" questions.
