I'm not sure if it will be necessary to reactivate once you're copied it to a new location but it seems logical that it might be.
Was not necessary here, the Activation stays with the computer OS. When my shipped Hard Drive arrived from PG Music, I plugged it in and it was already activated from my download hard drive version. Not a problem. --Mac
