Where exactly is that folder located on the drive, which drive is it, and what is your Operating System?

If, for example, you have installed to c:\Program Files, there could be routines preventing writing to registry, such as Windows built in Write Protection, or possibly could be due to Antivirus program and settings there, which are also designed to prevent programs from performing Writes.

In some instances, it is also important to be logged on as Administrator in order to perform the successful complete install.

Not to worry, though, once you've sorted out that situtation, a reinstall will likely be all that's needed.

If the old bb is indeed in the Program Files, all that need be done is copy the entire folder from there to somewhere else, the default of c:\bb being a very good choice. Then rerun the installer files on it. As Administrator.
