Is there a way of adding an annotation to the basic chord sheet in order to see at a glance which part is which? Ie a word to say start of solo or bridge, would be so handy.
I have seen on one of the instructional videos that notes can be added to the lyric page, but as someone who mainly works in the chord view, this is not practical for me.
Cheers Steve

Click on the 'memo' button near the song title. Make an entry and use the 'update' command to save your notes.

Not at a BIAB computer now but check into Section Text.

The memo seems to only to make notes on the song as a whole, I was after some way of marking the actual chord entry sheet with the different song parts.
Thanks for relying though
Cheers Steve

Hi Steve,

There is no function that will allow annotations on the chord sheet window.

As Matt has said above, if you use 'section text' (that's added to the staves when in 'notation view'), this will be printed on the lead sheet.

Hope this helps,
Noel

The closest thing I know of is Part Markers in Realband. Not sure if BiaB supports this.
They don't show in Chords view, but they do in the main Tracks view. By the time I'm adding solos and bridges I've already moved to RB.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

[Sorry I couldn't get back to this earlier.]

Explore using Section Text (and Section Letters) in BIAB.

1. Go to the Notation Mode (Regular, not Editable).

2. Right-click on the dark thin row where there is only the small while cursor (this will be the row just underneath the row with the buttons for Opt., Print, Vocal Synth etc.

3. A long menu comes up. Select 'Insert Section Text Event'. You will see a dialog box.

Alternatively, sometimes all you need in a chart is a Section Letter, which is right above Insert Section Text Event.

4. Open the Lead Sheet Window to see the results. Depending on your monitor resolution, you may be able to see what you have added without doing this, especially if you use the vertical slider to move the music down a bit.)

5. Explore the options. For example, I often set the height to -56 instead of the default -64. You can also change the font. And, you can review all section text events if, for example, you want to remove one.
