Thanks again Mac for going to so much detail, it's really appreciated.

The 'other' synth unfortunately is a PC running Cantabile with Ivory as a VST, so it actually has USB as the connection "In-point" to the computer. ( Illustrated in previous post ).

The midi connectivity is from a Roland UM-One Midi to USB adapter. So there is Midi IN and Midi THRU but no Midi OUT from this device.

The idea of changing the daisy chain is great thinking, but I am not sure I can do this because it's not a hardware synth, and is designed to have Midi In and Play Audio out, rather than midi out.

Your comment on the use of software for live work is well received. When I mentioned 'live', I should have elaborated as in live for rehearsals and practice, not for recording, and not for gigs.

Unless you see any 'gotchas', I think for recording, that RB, together with that multi-channel midi device will be a direction to consider. One midi going to the Ketron, the other Midi going to the Ivory VST, with single channel instruments played out from each track.

Kind regards

Trevor
