I finally finished a tune I've been writing for years. My dear friend and brother Tommy Collins inspired this one by my watching him go through hell and back. Hell When You Can't Pay Thanks for taking time to listen. Wish I had 29 bux for a better drum style but I think it works. It's hell when you can't pay I reckon. :-)

Damn, Poppa. . . That's a good one. It is just loaded with good hooks.... I was gonna quote one, but there are about three that really hit home with me. Really good songwriting as far as I'm concerned. The lyrics, and the scratch in your voice. . . Excellent.

That is a great song, i could hear it on the radio. The only thing i would change is it needs a hot stinging country guitar lead.

Would love to hear some studio cats fleshin' out the instrument fills a bit more (Think Jerry Reed and what he'd of done to it... ), but it can stand on its own as it is very well.

Yep - seen a few good old boys do that...
My personal favorite line is "The cost of higher livin' kept on risin' everyday."
I have no idea where that came from but it's a nice twist I think.
