I finally finished a tune I've been writing for years. My dear friend and brother Tommy Collins inspired this one by my watching him go through hell and back.

Hell When You Can't Pay

Thanks for taking time to listen.

Wish I had 29 bux for a better drum style but I think it works.

It's hell when you can't pay I reckon. :-)

Damn, Poppa. . . That's a good one. It is just loaded with good hooks.... I was gonna quote one, but there are about three that really hit home with me. Really good songwriting as far as I'm concerned. The lyrics, and the scratch in your voice. . . Excellent.

This is a keeper.

Super lyrics, great vox and one fantastic mix.

OK, a random thought;

Great song Poppa.......

I LIKE it...........good mix, lead vocal could maybe come up just a little to my ears, but they're getting old, so what do they know.

That is a great song, i could hear it on the radio. The only thing i would change is it needs a hot stinging country guitar lead.

This one's a cross between Don Williams and JJ Cale. Pretty good stuff!

I like it.

A lot.

Would love to hear some studio cats fleshin' out the instrument fills a bit more (Think Jerry Reed and what he'd of done to it... ), but it can stand on its own as it is very well.

All I can add to whats been said already is to just get in line with the kuddos above. This is a very good song and a pretty damn solid performance to boot.

Yep - seen a few good old boys do that...

My personal favorite line is "The cost of higher livin' kept on risin' everyday."

I have no idea where that came from but it's a nice twist I think.

Thanks Don!

What a fantastic song! This is this the whole package, PW. 10 out of 10 for everything: melody, lyrics, production, singing. I can hear a bit of Kenny Rogers in your voice

Thanks Noel - throat cancer surgery and radiation treatment will do that!

5 years ago I thought I'd never talk again. Now I remind folks of Kenny Rogers?
