Updated from 2009 and a few things I use to know, I don't any more.

1. How do I get to non BIAB .sty files? I use to go to the dialog box and click on "Open". I could then see and open any folder I had with a "homemade" .sty file. I don't see that option any more.

2. When I go to the "OPEN" button, "Opem files..." I can see the folder I want with the songs in it but they are not alphabetized. I have tried the "rebuild" in the Songpicker dealog box but the list still remains the same. Even when reopening BIAB.

3. Is it normal for BIAB 2014 to take over a minute to load? The 2009 version on the same computer took nowhere near that long.

Please respond with the KISS theory in mind............ I'm old.

Thanks,
JimE

The "User Styles" folder should be at the very bottom of the list on LH side of Stylepicker.

It may be necessary to hit the "Find New Styles" button at bottom of Stylepicker window center section to load them.

The good old Songpicker isn't working yet, so instead we are greeted with a wtandard Windows Explorer window of the last folder opened. For now.

We've been promised a fix and that the Songpicker will be back in action with a forthcoming free Update file. pays to keep an eye on those Updates the first few months after any new release, download and Update as they are issued.

Several or more of us have found that the longer loading time is a function of our Virus Protection softwares. There may be a way to tell your particular Virus checker to ignore BB at startup, that would, of course, be a function of the particular software you have and its Control Panel.

Thanks Mac.

I will try #1 and #3 tomorrow and will live with #2 until they fix it.

Thanks also for the non technical answers.

As for the second concern, <When I go to the "OPEN" button, "Opem files..." I can see the folder I want with the songs in it but they are not alphabetized. I have tried the "rebuild" in the Songpicker dealog box but the list still remains the same. Even when reopening BIAB.>...

You can easily alphabetize the files by clicking on the column title, "Name"; click again and it will alphabetize from z to a. Each column can be ordered in this fashion, some by date or by number or whatever category is being reported by that column. This is a standard Windows protocol and not specific to BIAB.

This should make finding the files easier for you.
