Just got off the phone with tech support with another problem.
End message? Experiment!!!
New situation.
First bar.
I entered DbMaj7/Ab(P2) using Chord settings (pedal bass).
The only problem is that the pedal bass doesn't work!
The bass just walks!
Any ideas?

Did you regenerate the song after making the change in Chord Settings?
Is the Bass track frozen? If so it's necessary to unfreeze it before regenerating.
What does RS mean?

Did you regenerate the song after making the change in Chord Settings?
Is the Bass track frozen? If so it's necessary to unfreeze it before regenerating.
What does RS mean? Thanks Noel. Yes I did re-gen. No the track isn't frozen. The other tracks were, so I unfroze them just in case. RS mean RealStyles I think. I am having a bit of success now but still a long way to go. First off, PGMusic needs to put up a pop-up when a silly user such as myself goes into Chord settings and tries to set up a pedal bass with a **Substyle(b)** in place!!! The two conflict with each other (walking bass). After changing to Substyle(a) here's what happening. Despite asking for a pedal on 2 and 4 it's putting a quasi pedal on *1 and 3*!!! I say quasi because it's kind of playing octaves (despite not setting it to this) !!!!!

You could ask PG Music, but I recall a number of improvements to pedal bass were made around that time of version 2011 or after. An upgrade may help if nothing else does.

You could ask PG Music, but I recall a number of improvements to pedal bass were made around that time of version 2011 or after. An upgrade may help if nothing else does.

Make sure you've updated Shots and Holds raw realtracks for you version as well.
If the Holds files are missing...

This may help. The Shots and Holds are considered updates to the RealTracks & RealDrums. Go here and read the second section on Compatibility carefully, to be sure you load the right patch for your version. http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windows_realdrums.htm

Thanks Matt. I updated to the latest RealTracks & RealDrums for my version. My problem still persists. Octave pedal and on all four beats, not 2 and 4. I have even done what PGMusic support suggested. Started with a clean song and loaded various styles to see if any would pedal properly. None would.

Have you made sure that the part marker is blue instead of green? Saw no mention of this in the other posts. Later, Ray Thanks Ray for stopping by! I checked and yes, the marker is blue (substyle a). You inspired me to have one more go at this and this time I tried 'all midi' settings. Guess what? It works with all midi settings (midi bass). So what is the problem here? Can you get audio to pedal properly as well? If so, what is the secret to getting it to work? TIA

The pedal bass works with all my Real Tracks except the Jazz Organ/Bass Real Tracks. Hope you get it sorted out. Later, Ray

Just in case, here's a link to the RealTracks/RealDrums Update files page. http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windows_realdrums.htm According to the info on that page, you only need install the latest one to get all the fixes, that would be the one at the top. I do seem to recall that there were some certain ST2 files that had to be updated in order to get the Shots and Holds to work with them, there were also some Audio additions to the sample folders as well IIRC. If you've done that and still no joy, perhaps it is time for you to contact pgmusic support directly on this one. --Mac

After waiting patiently for several weeks on this one, PGMusic finally got back to me (after I sent a reminder e-mail a couple of days ago).
They fired up the same version I have, BIAB 2011, and they couldn't get the pedal to work properly either!
