The supplied Print PDF routine has fallen victim to Adobe Upgrades here, whenever the baddies figure out another way to subvert Adobe's code, they hustle to change coding and send out Critical Updates and all, but its hard to keep up with all that.
Get it working, then on another day it stops working, get it working again and it stops again... Fap.
Use of one of the "other" PDF Print utilities has indeed been more robust here.
